Bei isolierenden und magnetischen Werkstoffen kann das Schwei\u00dfen mit dem Elektronenstrahl aufgrund von Oberfl\u00e4chenaufladung und\/oder Strahlverzerrung oft eine Herausforderung darstellen. Das FOCUS LaVa-System bringt die Leistung des Laserschwei\u00dfens in eine Vakuumumgebung und erm\u00f6glicht so ein extrem sauberes Tiefschwei\u00dfen bei viel niedrigeren Temperaturen als an Atmosph\u00e4re. Da der Siedepunkt von Werkstoffen druckabh\u00e4ngig ist, setzt beim Betrieb des Lasers unter Vakuumbedingungen der Tiefschwei\u00dfeffekt bereits bei Temperaturen ein, die bis zu 1000 \u00b0C niedriger sind als unter atmosph\u00e4rischen Bedingungen. Das Schwei\u00dfen bei niedrigeren Temperaturen begrenzt die thermischen Zyklen und reduziert den Verzug, w\u00e4hrend gleichzeitig die Sputterbildung durch eine stabile Ausbildung der Schwei\u00dfkapillare  minimiert wird. Die Reflektivit\u00e4t des Materials kann bei der Arbeit mit Edelmetallen oder beim F\u00fcgen unterschiedlicher Materialien ein Problem darstellen, da hier ein gut angepasster Temperaturgradient an der Materialgrenzfl\u00e4che erforderlich ist, um die Bildung von intermetallischen Phasen zu minimieren. Ein \u00e4hnlich breiter Leistungsbereich mit einer Laserplattform w\u00fcrde mehrere Laserquellen erfordern und w\u00e4re immer noch nicht in der Lage, die feine Leistungssteuerung eines Elektronenstrahls mit Ein-Watt-Bereich zu erreichen.  Ein weiterer Vorteil des Elektronenstrahls besteht f\u00fcr einige Anwender darin, dass die Spotgr\u00f6\u00dfe kontinuierlich von 25 \u00b5m bis zu mehr als 1 mm variiert werden kann, und zwar mit gro\u00dfen Ablenkfrequenzen von 100 kHz im Vergleich zu 1 kHz bei regul\u00e4ren Laserquellen-Spiegeln.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>F\u00fcr diejenigen, die die ultimative L\u00f6sung in Bezug auf Materialflexibilit\u00e4t suchen, ist die Kombination beider Quellenarten in einem einzigen System die universelle L\u00f6sung.
